Friday, May 1 is the Flower Moon (full moon) and what better way to take in the views from Earth, unless you were an Astronaut on Artimus II, than to ride the trail with friends by the light of the moon with the help of a few lumens. Come join Diane and I as we cruise the VCT from the Chickahominy River Park, up and over the bridge towards the Breeze In for a few miles at a D Pace and then turn around and head back to the bridge for a moon light picture. Meet at CRP parking lot at 8:00 PM and launch @ 8:15. We will head back to CRP so that we can get a picture of the river and the moon. Think of the song Moon River by Frank S. We should be back to the CRP by 9:15 so that you can get home for a good night sleep.
Please bring a head light and a tail light. We will make sure that they are pointed down so as not to blind the riders with us or cause our brain to be scrambled.I realize that BOOH (Bikes out of Hibernation) is the following day but come out and enjoy the evening.
Fun Fact: There are two full moons this May, The Flower Moon on May 1 and the Blue Moon on May 31. This is an unusual occurrence so I guess the saying "Once in a Blue Moon” came about. Look it up.
