Smithfield Gravel Ride "C"

The Smithfield Gravel Ride is a scenic 27 mile route that goes from Smithfield to Moonlight, then traverses 5 miles of beautiful gravel roads on the way to Morgart’s Beach on the James River, and then back to Smithfield. There will be a rest stop at Fort Boykin at mile 20. There are no store stops on this route, so bring your own snacks.

This ride is suitable for mountain bikes, gravel bikes, hybrid bikes - anything with wider tires that you can pedal on gravel - leave your good road bike at home for this ride. This will be a no-drop C-pace ride.

The ride will start in front of the U.S. Post Office at 234 Main Street in Smithfield. There is public parking across the street behind the Taste of Smithfield, as well as a gravel lot behind the Crook & Pack law firm directly across from the Post Office. The ride will start from the Post Office at 9:30 am, so plan on taking the 8:00 am Jamestown/Scotland Ferry. For those interested, we will have lunch in Smithfield following the ride.
