Description
UNSUPPORTED METRIC CENTURY:
Date: Sunday, April 9
Meet up: The Williamsburg Winery - arrive at 8:30, roll at 9:00
Course: 62.8 miles - ridewithgps.com/routes/
Pace: 16.5 mph average - rolling at 18 mph on-the-flat
Note: Cue sheets will not be available, so if taking a self directed ride, print out a copy for yourself.
With a number of long distance rides on the horizon (centuries) we will offer a WAB/PBA metric century training opportunity. In conjunction with the Williamsburg Winery Sunday ride, our separate group will depart the Winery at 9:00 AM but will veer off from the main wine ride and go the additional miles necessary to get close to a metric century. Note that there will be a separate sign-in for WAB and PBA members riding the metric.
This will be a B-Pace ride with an end average in the 16.5 MPH range (flat rolling at ~18 MPH). This is NOT a no-drop ride so ensure you can hold the advertised pace. Robert Duncan will lead a C-pace ride.
We will stray from the VCT and get out onto the country roads of Charles and James City County. Our group will have re-groupings as required with hard stops for water / rest room at Charles City Courthouse (outbound) and the Chickahominy Riverfront Park (inbound).
Post Ride Metric party will take place at the Williamsburg Winery.
