Drag out your gravel bike and join Rick Nevins on a gravel ride in the West Point area. This is a 40 mile route on very lightly traveled roads including a total of 7 miles on gravel. The route starts at the Dragon's Run Brewing in Shacklefords and loops up around the Dragon's Run State Forest. Be prepared to get a little bit back to nature as we will pass through some beautiful countryside and forests. There are no official rest stops with facilities or food so be prepared - bring plenty of water and snacks. After the ride stay for a beer and food at the Brewery. You can see the food and drink menu HERE. The brewery opens at 2 PM.
This will be a B pace and we will probably end up more on the lower end of the B average because of the gravel. We will re-group as necessary to keep everyone together.
NOTE: The gravel on this route is fairly tame. The gravel sections are on unpaved county or state roads and are well maintained.
